It kills me to see you sick A song about Mothers A song about Violence A song about Grief I wrote this song at a time when several people I love were sick and hospitalized concurrently. It is about the angry and violent side of grief that people don't usually discuss. This is the side of grief that torments the living and forsakes the dead. Let us not get lost in our pain and find ourselves again in the arms of those we love while we still have them and share joy in honor of joys past. Video featuring my mother. For the Pelican Her piety His blindness My pity Forgiveness This is my song Pelican and it is the second single from my upcoming album "Lord why do you do these things to me?" When I was a boy my father used to tell me and my brothers the fantastical stories of his life while he chain smoked reservation menthols on his various canadian porches. He was the greatest story teller I have ever known. One story that always stuck with me was his story about the pelican. According to my dad, the pelican does not die of old age but of starvation caused by blindness from repeatedly diving into the water for fish. The pelican is not satisfied being another bird blessed with flight and beauty but instead wishes to be a whale. Through this I have learned to understand. When her husband, blind from dreaming, can no longer fish than the divine Pelican herself becomes the meal. This is because someone must feed the children. Through this I have learned to understand. In life it is so easy to hate somebody based on the things they’ve done and so hard to forgive. After all, we are just working with the things we’ve got. SAVE ME 4 THE SPANK BANK The debut record by Klovis Gaynor & The Urinal Cakes It has been one of the great honors of my life to record and produce this album for and with Klovis. What started out as a few voice memos in our rehearsal space has evolved over the last two years into an epic Baroque Punk masterpiece. This whole process has been one of learning and unlearning and relearning and trying and failing and trying again. Through recording our band The Urinal Cakes live in our NYC studio to recording grand piano and a choir in Vermont to recording the greatest underground classical masters on cello and harp and fiddle and sax and french horn etc etc we have attempted to capture the power and fragility of the soul. I hope you will take a listen and re-explore your relationships with God and your loved ones and even the people you may hate or not understand so that you may see the world is still so magnificent, mysterious and beautiful. I climbed to the top of the mountain I swam to the bottom of the sea I saw nothing After self-releasing 30 albums and over 300 songs under the moniker Nodrums, Brayden Baird and the Once in a Lifetime Band present “I Saw Nothing.” The first single from their upcoming album, Lord, why do you do these things to me?, exemplifies the fiery and unique spirit of Brayden and his band right from the first second with the entrance of a pounding floor tom heartbeat that pulls the listener into a song and story unlike any they have ever heard before. A 300 piece album. Nodrums the Completed Works. I am so happy and relieved to be finally completing the Nodrums project. It has been 10 years in the making and these songs have followed me through the most important years of my development as an artist and as a producer. I have been blessed to work with so many talented and special artists on this journey and so many of them have made it onto this project. I would love to name them all but frankly it is hard to remember everyone at this point but if you are tagged it is because you have made an appearance. If I forgot you please let me know and if for any reason you don't want to be mentioned let me know because that is fine too.
